This wonderful little plein air piece was painted late one September alongside the Torrey Creek as it winds down through Whiskey Basin from high glaciers in the Wind River Range. I absolutely loved the bold shapes of color created by the willows, spruce, and distant blue of the canyon side with, that brilliant slice of orange aspens in the foreground. Painting it would only have been more wonderful if I'd had nice Old Fashioned in hand to enjoy along with the view. Cheers!
